CHICAGO — Ara Griffin died Friday, July 29, 2011, at Trinity Hospital in Chicago. She was 75.

Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her parents, James L. and Clara Wilson-Scott; and two brothers, L.H. Scott and John David Scott.

She is survived by a son, Steve N. Scott of Chicago; five brothers, Charlie Scott of Naperville, Ill., Wilbert Scott of McCalla, Ala., James C. Scott of Port Gibson, Gloster Scott of Bay Springs and Willie Scott of Chicago; two sisters, Josie Ross of Chicago and Ivie Nola Campbell of Huntsville, Ala.; five grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Carbondale Cemetery in Port Gibson. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home of Port Gibson.
