Man connected to April auto thefts arrested

A third Vicksburg resident accused of stealing nearly a dozen cars from an auto dealership on U.S. 80 on April 15 was held without bond this morning in the Warren County Jail.

At 6:25 p.m., Sherwood Lyons, 39, who lives on Big Mama Drive, was arrested Wednesday on Culkin Road and charged with 11 counts of auto theft, business burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime after he and two others stole 11 vehicles from River City Auto Sales, according to Warren County Jail records.

On April 23, Monica Hicks, 36, and Jimmy High, whose age was not available, were arrested in the 100 block of Choctaw Circle and charged with 11 counts of auto theft.

On April 15, 11 vehicles were reported missing from the car dealership, said River City Auto Sales owner George Grey. Grey said that the cars were of various makes and models, with one valued at about $10,000.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace and Grey said that keys were stolen from different places around the office.
