Three men accused of shooting an elderly couple during a Jan. 14 home invasion go to trial Aug. 25 on multiple charges stemming from the break-in at a home on Shenandoah Road.

Circuit Judge Isadore Patrick set the trial date for Rodriquez Lenez Lyons, 20, Tierre Jante Hill, 23, and Kenjarvis Deantae Thomas, 17, at their arraignment Friday in Warren County Circuit Court. All three are being held without bond in the Warren County Jail.

They are each charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of armed robbery and one count of burglary of a dwelling in the attack in which they shot the 78-year-old man and his 74-year-old wife in the head with a .22-caliber rifle. Both survived the shootings.

The robbery charges involve the theft of money, a laptop computer and a shotgun and rifle that were taken from the couple at gunpoint.

Authorities believe the trio followed the couple home from a casino on Warrenton Road and waited a short time before breaking into the house.
