Anguilla man killed in crash

An Anguilla man was killed Sunday when his 18-wheeler struck a tree along Interstate 55 north of Brookhaven.
Henry Thomas, 59, of Anguilla died after his truck ran off the roadway into the median, hit a tree and caught fire, according to a release from the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol
Heartland Express owned the truck, which was loaded with dog food.

Man held for stolen gun, drugs
A Vicksburg man accused of having a stolen gun and drugs was held without bail this morning.
Conti Tillis, 21, who lives on Lightcap Boulevard, was arrested at 6:15 a.m. Sunday and charged with possession of a stolen firearm and felony possession of marijuana, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Tillis was arrested on Court Street after officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area and discovered that he was the shooter, Williams said.
“The firearm that he used was reported stolen by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office,” she said.
He also had more than an ounce of marijuana when he was arrested, she said.
Tillis was set to appear in Vicksburg Municipal Court this morning.

Burglary suspect caught
A Vicksburg man caught breaking into a car at River Region Medical Center was held without bail this morning.
Logan Bullock, 24, who lives on Clark Street, was arrested at 11:41 p.m. Sunday and charged with auto burglary, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Bullock was caught by security at River Region breaking into a 1994 Ford Thunderbird and stealing a small amount of cash and a tablet computer valued at $100, Pace said.
“There was a second vehicle entered, and at the time of the report it was unclear if anything at all was taken out of the second vehicle,” Pace said.
Bullock was held without bail this morning in the Warren County Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.

Electronics, guns hot
Electronics and guns were among the items stolen in seven burglaries since Thursday in Vicksburg.
At 2 p.m. Thursday, a 55-inch Samsung television valued at $850 and a Wii video game console value at $90 were reported stolen from the 100 block of Elizabeth Circle, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
At 3:10 p.m. Thursday, a DVD player was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Valley View Lane, she said.
At 6:45 p.m. Friday, a 9mm pistol and an iPhone with a combined value of $800 were reported stolen from a Ford F-250 in the 100 block of Warrenton Road, Williams said.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, a Pioneer stereo was reported stolen from a 1994 Buick in the 400 block of Mission 66, she said.
At 3 p.m. Saturday, a checkbook was reported stolen from a 2007 Nissan in the 3000 block of Indiana Avenue, she said.
At 11:15 a.m. Sunday, two air conditioners were reported stolen from the 100 block of Allgood Drive, she said.
At 3 p.m. Sunday, a .45-caliber Ruger pistol, a Kindle tablet computer, a Dell laptop computer and a pair of headphones was reported stolen from a 2000 Chevy in the 700 block of Crawford Street, she said.
