Three elderly people were injured yesterday when an external lift failed and crashed to the ground at a home on Lake Chotard.
A 65-year-old woman, a 79-year-old man and a 83-year-old woman were injured at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday when lift in front of a home in the 400 block of Laney Camp Road, gave way and fell onto the concrete below, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
All three were taking to River Region Medical Center where their conditions were unavailable this morning.
Off-duty deputy hurt in crash
A Warren County deputy was hospitalized this morning following a motorcycle crash Sunday on Dana Road.
Cordell Watkins, 25, was off duty and driving his personal motorcycle at about 6 p.m. Sunday when he crashed and hit a fence post, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Watkins was riding the motorcycle near Dana Road Elementary School when he braked to avoid an object in the road, Pace said.
“The back tire locked up and he slid off the road and hit a fence post,” Pace said.
Watkins was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson where he is listed in good condition.
