Clear Creek Ladies golf report

On Wednesday, the Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association hosted its July retirees Scramble. The team of Carol Roberson, Doug Dick, Joe Lorinc and Wayne Scott won the scramble. Linda McHann, Del Cox, Richard Rogers, David Williams and David Wright took second, while Dinah Lazor, Keith Gordon, Jerry Harmon and Eddie Roberson placed third.

Linda McHann and Rodney McHann hit the longest drives. Linda McHann, Keith Gordon and Brad Heisler took closest-to-the-pin awards. Chip-ins were made by Sherron Engdahl, Del Cox, Max Dornbusch, Keith Gordon, Dan Marble, Richard Taylor and David Vantrease.

The Golf Center at the Outlets of Vicksburg is offering lessons for children in July. Boys lessons will be Wednesdays at 10 a.m., and the girls lessons on Fridays at 10 a.m. All classes cost $10 and will be conducted by LPGA Class A member Kathy Hester. Vicksburg Express baseball tryouts

Tryouts for the Vicksburg Express, an 11-and-under baseball tournament team, will be held Monday ay Halls Ferry Park from 6 to 8 p.m. Players must not turn 12 before May 1, 2015. Players should also bring appropriate attire and their glove to the tryouts.

Summer tennis at Halls Ferry

The City of Vicksburg’s summer youth tennis program is now underway at Halls Ferry Park. The program will run Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to noon, and on Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m. Individual matches will be played from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by junior team tennis from 10 a.m. to noon.

Mississippi Braves charity golf tourney

The Mississippi Braves Charity Golf Tournament will be held Wednesday at Patrick Farms Golf Club in Brandon. The tournament is a four-man and one celebrity scramble. Sign-in is at 11:30 a.m., and the tournament begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Entry fees range from $350 to $750 per four-man team, depending on the level of sponsorship. Proceeds benefit the Louisiana-Mississippi Chapter of the ALS Association.

Mississippi Braves baseball camp
