Warren County golf championships

Clear Creek Golf Course will host the Warren County Junior Championship and the Warren County Championship this month.

The Junior Championship is scheduled for July 15 and 16, beginning at 9 a.m. each day. The entry fee is $15 and the tournament is open to all Warren County golfers ages 18 and under. There will be separate boys and girls divisions. Players 14 and up will play from the white tees, and the winner of that group will qualify for the Warren County Championship.

The Warren County Championship will be played July 26-27. The 36-hole tournament is open to all Warren County residents and the entry fee is $100. There will also be a shoot-out on July 25 for the top 12 players from the 2013 men’s Championship. The entry fee for the shoot-out is $20 per person.

Ole Miss Alumni hosts Rebel Reunion

The Central Mississippi Ole Miss Rebel Club will host the annual Rebel Reunion on Tuesday at the Jackson Convention Center. Ole Miss baseball coach Mike Bianco, athletic director Ross Bjork, and assistant football coaches Dan Werner and Chris Kiffin will all be in attendance.

The social hour, silent auction and children’s activities begin at 5 p.m., and the main program at 6:30. Tickets are $15 per person in advance or $20 at the door. Admission is free to students and children. VIP seats are available for $30 through advance sale only.

Summer tennis at Halls Ferry

The City of Vicksburg’s summer youth tennis program is now underway at Halls Ferry Park. The program will run Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to noon, and on Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m. Individual matches will be played from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by junior team tennis from 10 a.m. to noon.

Mississippi Braves baseball camp

The Mississippi Braves will host a youth baseball camp July 30 through Aug. 1 at Trustmark Park in Pearl. The camp is for boys and girls ages 5-14, and the cost is $150 per child. The camp will feature individual instruction from Mississippi Braves players and staff.

All participants will receive an M-Braves cap and merchandise; lunch and beverages each day; two tickets to the M-Braves games on July 30 and 31, and Aug. 1; an autograph session on the final day of the camp; and on-field recognition prior to the game on Aug. 1.

Arrowhead Golf tournaments

The Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour will host the AJGT Hattiesburg Junior Classic July 22-23 at Hattiesburg Country Club. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is open to golfers ages 11-18 and is ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard. The entry fee is $215 and includes two days of greens fees, tee gifts, and trophies in four age divisions.

The entry deadline is July 18.

The Arrowhead Tour will also host the Blue Harbor Pointe Stroke Play Championship Aug. 1-3 at Beau Chene Golf Club in Mandeville, La. This is a three-day, 54-hole tournament. The entry fee is $255, and the registration deadline is July 29.

Golf Center class changes

The Golf Center at the Outlets of Vicksburg is offering lessons for children in July. Boys lessons will be Wednesdays at 10 a.m., and the girls lessons on Fridays at 10 a.m. All classes cost $10 and will be conducted by LPGA Class A member Kathy Hester.
