St. Aloysius football camp

The St. Aloysius High School Youth Football camp is scheduled for July 30, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Balzli Field. The camp is for players ages 5-12, and the registration fee is $40. All players should bring cleats and athletic clothing.

Clear Creek Golf Course will host the Warren County Championship this weekend.

The 36-hole tournament will be played Saturday and Sunday. It is open to all Warren County residents and the entry fee is $100. There will also be a shootout Friday at 5 p.m. for the top 12 players from the 2013 men’s Championship. The entry fee for the shootout is $20 per person.

Tomahawk Tromp at Tara Wildlife

The Tara Tomahawk Tromp, a 5K off-road trail run, is scheduled for Aug. 16 at 8:30 a.m. at Tara Wildlife. The trail run will include course stations that involve shooting, spear chunking, knife and tomahawk throwing, archery, bear crawls, and water hazards. All station supplies, including weapons and ammunition, are provided.

Competition categories will be presented in each of five age groups ranging from 10 through 50-and-over. All participants will receive a T-shirt. The early registration fee is $30 per person, or $40 on the day of the event. The fee for children 9 and under is $10, and for ages 10 to 17 it’s $20.

Vicksburg, WC season ticket sales

Tickets for Vicksburg High and Warren Central football games will go on sale to past season ticket holders on Aug. 4, and to the general public on Aug. 18. Tickets are $7 per game, or $35 for the season.

Gator and Viking A-Club memberships will also go on sale on Aug. 4. A-Club membership cards are good for admission to all regularly scheduled sporting events within the Vicksburg Warren School District, with the exception of varsity football, Red Carpet Bowl events, and playoff games. A-Club memberships cost $100 for one person, or $175 for two people.

Golf Center classes

The Golf Center at the Outlets of Vicksburg is offering lessons for children in July. Boys lessons will be Wednesdays at 10 a.m., and the girls lessons on Fridays at 10 a.m. All classes cost $10 and will be conducted by LPGA Class A member Kathy Hester.

Clear Creek Ladies golf report

On July 16, the Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association played a game of “most scores of four.” Joyce Johnson took top honors with the best score and lowest number of putts. Martha Masterson and Linda McHann placed second and third, respectively.

Gator Bait triathlon

The annual Gator Bait triathlon will be held Aug. 23 at Eagle Lake. The event will start from Messina Landing at 7 a.m., and will include a 1.5-kilometer swim, 40-kilometer bike race, and a 10-kilometer run. A running and biking duathlon will also be held, along with an open water swim.
