Albert Tucker Hossley Sr. beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on Jan. 24, 2015, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Hossley; his niece, Kathy Hossley; and his parents, Earl and Elsie Hossley.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lee Hossley, along with their five children, Albert T. Hossley Jr. (Misty), Ginger Hossley Richards (Michael), Shelly Hossley King (Eddie), Mickey Hossley (Christina), Shanna Hossley Farmer (Shilo); 11 grandchildren, Cruz and Annie Tucker Hossley, Bryce, Brooklyn, Brantlee Richards, Jon Edward and Reese King, Logan, Mary Evelyn, Presley Hossley, Quaid Farmer; eight brothers and sisters, Danny  Hossley (Ann), Fielding Hossley,  Mary Hossley Brook (Bubba), Cil Hossley Riles (Charles), Terry Hossley Tandy, Elsie Hossley King (Carol), Mike Hossley (Kelly), and Marguerite Hossley Wall (David); along with nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Albert was born Feb. 8, 1944, in Vicksburg. He attended and graduated from St. Aloysius High School. He attended Mississippi State University, where he received a bachelor’s, master’s and special certification in education.

He taught for one year in Cocoa Beach, Fla., where he met his wife. He returned to Vicksburg and taught at the former Cooper High School. He finished out his teaching career at the Vicksburg Branch of Hinds Community College, and retired from there as dean in 1994. He received his chemical certification from Mississippi State and started a lawn care company that he worked until his death.

Albert was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Vicksburg. He was a member of Tri County Hunting Club, and loved to hunt, fish, and garden. He was an avid fan of the MSU Bulldogs. Albert loved life and spending time with his family and friends.

The family would like to offer its heart felt appreciation to the staff of Gentiva Home Health and Hospice, the staff of University of Mississippi Medical Center, and Dr. George “Trey” Abraham for the loving care and support provided during this difficult time.

Visitation is today, Jan. 26, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m., with a Rosary Service to follow at Riles Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Alfred Camp officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday at the Church from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jack Ross, Jim Taylor, Joe Loviza, Burkett Martin, Richard Hanks, Stan Terry, Joe Addy, Butch Newman, Buddy Hanks and Venable Moore. Honorary pallbearers will include Leon Jacobs, Buddy Strickland, Mike Jones, Bobby Barlow, Sonny Harpole, and the members of Tri County Hunting Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Vicksburg Catholic Schools or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
