Bubba Mims golf tournament

Porters Chapel Academy will host the 11th annual Bubba Mims Memorial Golf Classic April 29 at Vicksburg Country Club. The event is a four-man scramble and will begin with lunch at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The entry fee is $90 per player and includes cart, beverages and lunch. All proceeds benefit Porters Chapel Academy.

Titleist golf demo at Clear Creek

Titleist Golf will hold a demo day Saturday at the Clear Creek Golf Course driving range from 12 to 4 p.m. It is open to the public. For information, call 601-638-9395.

Clear Creek Ladies golf report

On Wednesday, Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association members had an individual match. Dinah Lazor finished first, followed by Susan Pharr in second place and Christine Williams in third. Pharr logged the lowest putting score.

Play 2 Wynn basketball camp

Former Vicksburg High star Donna Brown-Wynn will host her 13th annual Play 2 Wynn basketball camp June 1-5 at Vicksburg High School. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day, and is for boys and girls ages 6-17. The cost is $75 per person. Players of all skill levels are welcome.

Hinds CC football camps

The Hinds Community College football program will host a 7-on-7 camp, as well as a camp for offensive and defensive linemen on the Raymond campus in June.

The linemen camp runs from June 22-24. Registration begins at noon on June 22. The cost of the camp is $150 for those registered by June 1, or $175 after that date.

The 7-on-7 camp is a one-day session on June 25 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The cost of the camp is $200 for a team of 20 players, plus $25 for each additional player.

All players must have a current physical form and a signed waiver.

Red Cross Learn to Swim class

Registration for the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” program will be held May 13-15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, and May 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at City Pool.

The cost of each two-week session is $12, and classes are held Monday through Friday. All participants must be at least 5 years old.

The sessions will run from June 1-12, June 22-July 3, and July 13-24. Three classes, at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 5:45 p.m., will be held each day. Adult and preschool classes are at 5:45 p.m. only. For information, call 601-634-4516.
