Velma Renee Brown died April 30, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. She was 49.

She was born to the late Henry King Hill and Velma Hill on March 12, 1966, in Vicksburg. Mrs. Brown was of the Baptist faith and attended Warren Central High School.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry King Hill, and grandmother, Zula Mary Baldwin.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Velma and Sammie Williams, both of Vicksburg; daughter, DeJane’ S. Cleveland of Jackson; three sisters, Theresa Baldwin of Chicago, Rosella Shepherd of Texas and Debra Hill Clark of Jackson; two brothers, Henry Lee Hill of Vicksburg and Ronnie Hill of New Jersey; two grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Services will be noon Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church with Apostle Clifford Daniels Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m.
