Tallulah, La. — Mr. House was born November 10, 1922 in Crenshaw, Ms., and died on May 17, 2015. He was 92 years old.

He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was very devoted to his family.

Amy, a granddaughter, wrote – A gentle soul, but a giant personality, so quiet, yet so strong. My papaw was the strongest man I have ever known and he will always be my hero. When he told me stories from his years fighting in WWII to being a state trooper, I was in awe and would have given anything to have seen him in action.

He would have given the shirt off of his back to help anyone in need and taught all of his grandchildren so many life lessons. I will always cherish the memories we made and will pass them on to his great grandchildren.

He was a one of a kind man who loved all of his grandchildren with all of his heart and we loved him back just as much! What I wouldn’t give to go riding on the levee telling stories again. Amanda, a granddaughter, wrote-He taught me about honor, respect, and hard work.
