Cheryl Denise Erves died Friday, May 15, 2015 at her home.

Ms. Erves was born Nov. 18, 1966, to Betty and the late Robert Erves Sr.

She was a member of Mount Pisgah (Hickory Tree) Baptist Church.

She was a graduate of Warren Central High School and attended Mississippi College. She later attended cosmetology school, received her Mississippi Cosmetology license, and worked at Glamour Girl Salon in Atlanta. She returned to Vicksburg and worked at Quality Inn Suites as an auditor for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Erves Sr.; sister, Hazel Diane Leonard; grandmothers, Hazel Carson Erves and Viola Howard; and her grandfathers, Alfred Erves, Sr. and Joseph Howard Sr.

Survivors include a special friend; her mother, Betty Howard Erves of Vicksburg; two daughters, Brittany Erves of Arlington, Texas, and Allison Steele of Vicksburg; a son, Malik Steele of Vicksburg; six brothers, Robert Erves of Vicksburg, Larry Erves of Atlanta, James Erves of Vicksburg, Dale Erves of Waxahachie, Texas, Timothy Erves of Crockett, Calif., Joseph Steven Erves of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Greater Grove Street M. B. Church with the Rev. Elzie O’Neal officiating. Burial will be follow at Hickory Tree MB Church Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Fridayfrom noon to 7 p.m. at the church with family hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
