CLINTON — Isiac Wiggins of Clinton died Sunday, May 24, 2015, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Jackson.

Services were noon Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Lakewood Funeral Home in Clinton. Mr. Wiggins was a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church.

He was born Dec. 29, 1932, in Winnsboro, La., to Isiac F. Wiggins Sr. and Anthony Guimbellot Wiggins. His family moved to Vicksburg after World War II. He was proud to have served his country during the Korean War, joining the National Guard during high school and being called to active duty with the 31st division.

After his service time, he returned to Vicksburg to graduate with the Carr Central High School Class of 1953. He attended Hinds Junior College from 1953-1955, where he played football, basketball and ran track. He was on the 1954 football team that won the Junior Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.

He was married to Valerie Diffey Wiggins and they had just observed their 60th wedding anniversary.

He retired from the U. S. Postal service in 1998 with 43 years of service. He was the bright face with the happy smile that you saw when you went to buy stamps. He found peace and solitude in being a passionate fisherman.

He was a sportsman to the core, and enjoyed coaching Little League for several years. He coached for the YMCA, coaching T-ball and flag football. He was a member of the MMAOA for 34 years. He refereed in basketball and football at the high school level, and also football at the community college level.

Survivors are his wife, Valerie; Kimberly Atwood, his daughter; Todd Wiggins, his son; and Kaitlin and Kara Atwood, granddaughters who gave him much joy.

His parents and four brothers predeceased him.
