MISSOULA, Mont. — Michael Allen Lawrence, formerly of Vicksburg, passed away in his sleep on the morning of Friday, May 15, 2015.

He was born Aug. 18, 1967 in Fresno, Calif. At the time of his death, he was employed as the manager of Hellgate Canyon Storage.

He was a kind and loving person whose affable personality endeared him to family and customers alike. He loved floating the rivers around Missoula, and was happiest in a kayak paddling peacefully downstream. Michael was always available to help his friends and often lent a helping hand to those in need. He was great with children and they all loved “Uncle Michael.”

He clearly had an affinity for the little ones and knew just how to make them smile and laugh.

It says a great deal about his life when one realizes how many people knew or loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Lawrence-Dooley; stepfather, Cmdr. Jim Dooley, both of Vicksburg; father, David Lawrence; stepmother, Christa Lawrence; siblings, Cameron Lawrence, Laura Concannon and Kimberly Lawrence; sister-in-law, Kristi Lawrence; brother-in-law, Robet Concannon; nephew, Keegan Concannon; aunts, Paula Bandy, Lou Howorth and ElaineSerpa; uncle, Jim Howorth, and cousins.
