Ameristar Hotel returns to normal after bomb threat

It appears the threat to Ameristar Hotel in Vicksburg has cleared as operations at the hotel have returned to normal after an early afternoon bomb threat.

Ameristar Marketing Manager Lori Burke released a statement Tuesday afternoon.

“The safety of our guests and team members is always our #1 priority, so we evacuated the hotel and are working closely with local law enforcement officials on this matter. As soon as law enforcement clears the area for guests to return, we will do so.”

Vicksburg Police and emergency responded to a reported bomb threat at Ameristar Hotel, located at 4116 Washington Street, around 2 p.m.

The threat reportedly did not involve the Ameristar Casino.
