Two Vicksburg men are being held without bond in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility after their arrest Saturday by Warren County sheriff’s deputies on Vicksburg police warrants charging them with armed robbery.

Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said Fred Clark Jr., 24, 3772 U.S. 80, and Carlton Brown, 24, 1385 Warrenton Road, are accused of robbing a man Thursday at the Fred’s on Hall’s Ferry Road. The pair were arrested about 6 a.m. Saturday at a convenience store in the 1700 block of Mississippi 27. They will have an initial appearance Monday in Vicksburg Municipal Court.

Sheriff Martin Pace said a Vicksburg-Warren County 911 dispatcher traveling north on U.S. 61 North saw a car going south, recognized it as the vehicle used in the robbery and notified authorities.

Pace said the dispatcher recognized the car “because he was the dispatcher who gave out the description of the car after the robbery occurred.”

Deputy Dustin Keyes was in the U.S. 61 North area when he heard the call, saw the car and followed it to the store, where he took Clark and Brown in custody. The men were held in the parking lot until Vicksburg officers arrived.
