Boil water notice lifted

The boil water notice issued late Tuesday by Vicksburg officials for the city and the Yokena -Jeff Davis Water District has been lifted, Public Works Director Garnet Van Norman said.

“We pulled 30 water samples for two days each and they all came back clear, so we are out from under the boil water notice,” he said.

City officials issued the notice Tuesday night as a precaution after a power outage shut down the city’s water treatment plant in Haining Road.
