James Earl Pinkney

James Earl Pinkney died Monday August 24, 2015, at Merit River Region Medical Center. He was 56.

Born in Vicksburg, he was educated in the Vicksburg Public School System. He was employed with the City of Vicksburg for fifteen years and was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church.
Preceding him in death were his father, Archie Burnett; and his brother, Bobby Pinkney.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine Williams and Shelly Johnson, both of Vicksburg; his mother, Annie Marie Pinkney of Vicksburg; his companion of 25 years, Eloise Craig Meyers of Vicksburg; four stepsons, Mark Craig of North Dakota, Christopher Craig, Joseph Craig, and Donnie Craig, all of Vicksburg; two stepdaughters, Danielle Craig and Michelle Craig, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Jessie Pinkney, and LeVon Pinkney, both of Vicksburg, and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Pinkney will be 1 p. m. Monday, August 31, 2015, at Mount Calvary M. B. Church. Interment will follow in The Mt. Alban M. B. Church Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home and on Monday at the church from noon until the hour of service.
