One held in drug bust

A Vicksburg man accused of selling cocaine was held without bail Friday.

John Qualls, 25, 1215 Grammar St., was arrested Thursday on a warrant for sale of cocaine, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Qualls’ arrest was the result of an undercover drug investigation, she said.

Two suspect burglars jailed

Two men accused of breaking into homes in Vicksburg in July were held without bail Friday.

Eugene Sheppard Jr., 20, 12135 Thomas Drive, Raymond and Deangelo Fields, 19, 2638 Roosevelt Ave., were charged with two counts of burglary after being arrested Thursday, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Sheppard surrendered at 4 p.m., and Fields was arrested during a traffic stop at 2:30 p.m., she said.

In Warren County Circuit Court for the week ending Friday:

Jennifer Lee, 34, 47 Muirhead Road, was found guilty of violating probation for larceny of a motor vehicle and sentenced by Circuit Judge Isadore Patrick to complete the Mississippi Department of Corrections’ short-term alcohol and drug treatment program followed by incarceration in an MDOC restitution center until a total of $9,439.38 is paid and returned to probation for five years. Lee was arrested in April 2010.
