The Vicksburg Gators’ path to the top of Region 2-5A hit a major roadblock Friday night.

The Gators lost to hapless Neshoba Central, 14-9, to suffer their second consecutive loss and a major setback in their quest for a top-two finish in the region and a home playoff game.

Vicksburg fell to 0-2 in Region 2-5A (3-3 overall) and must now likely run the table in its last five league games to have any chance at finishing first or second. At 0-2, the Gators might need to win four of their last five just to make the playoffs.
