Henry LeRoy Williams

LEARNED — Henry LeRoy Williams died Monday Sept. 28, 2015, at G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson. He was 78.

He was the son of the late Charlie Williams Sr. and Willie Mae Harris Williams and was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he later served as a deacon.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Williams Jr., two sisters, Mary Fowler and Bettye Allen; and a brother-in-law, Jerry M. Moore.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Williams; two sisters, Annie Stamps and Gerena Irving, both of Edwards; three daughters, Marilyn Moore of Port Gibson, Carolyn Johnson of Edwards and Bobby Stokes of Ridgeland; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Learned.

Burial was Oak Grove Cemetery in Learned under the direction of Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home of Utica.

Pallbearers are Larry Lee, Jerrod Lee, Lamar Polk, David Richardson, Pete Richardson and Marvin Richardson. Honorary pallbearers are Allen Nicholson, Johnny Ray Nicholson, Clifford Irving, Alcee Irving Jr., Kenneth Sims Sr. and Kenneth Sims Jr.
