Evelyn Mae Raines Elliott died Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Brandon Court Nursing Home in Brandon. She was 93.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late D.C. and Robbie Lee Raines. Evelyn was a retired employee of McRae’s and The Valley Department Store. She was a member of Vicksburg Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest V. Elliott; brother, William Raines; and sister, Lois Raines. She is survived by four daughters, Mary Lee McGrew, Laureen Hunter, Peggy Dianne Edwards and Vicki Kay Powers; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Willie Hammack officiating under the direction of Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, MS Chapter, 196 Charmant Drive, Suite 4, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
