The city of Vicksburg has issued a boil water notice for residents of Rialty Street, Green Street, Avenues A through D, Valley Street, Arcadia Street, Highland Avenue and Letitia Street until further notice.

City Public Works Director Garnet Van Norman said a construction crew working on the Avenue D bridge broke a 6-inch city water line earlier Monday.

In a related matter, the Culkin Water District has issued a boil water alert because of a broken line for about 30 customers in the area from 7800 to 11041 Mississippi 3 in Warren County, including Limestone Drive and Vindication Drive.

Residents in the affected areas should boil their drinking and cooking water before using or find an alternate source of water.
