Bail was denied after an initial appearance for three men charged in the shooting death of a Claiborne County man, Claiborne County Sheriff Frank Davis said Tuesday.

Marqyvis Ladarrius Shaw, 21, Cedrick Donnell Amoh Jr. 19, and Brian Eggleston Jr., 23, all of Claiborne County, are charged with murder in the death of Kordell Bates, 25, whose body was found early Friday morning by a passerby laying on the roadside with a gunshot wound in the face.

Shaw was arrested after he crashed the car he was driving near the intersection of U.S. 61 and Mott Headley Road north of the Port Gibson city limits after a high-speed chase involving the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Warren County Sheriff’s deputies, Vicksburg police, Claiborne County deputies and Port Gibson police. The other men were arrested at their homes, Davis said.
