High-speed chase ends in Hinds County

At 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Vicksburg Police Department investigator was passed westbound on I-20 by a vehicle traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

The vehicle exited off the interstate at Washington Street and then got back on I-20, this time eastbound, Williams said. The driver did not yield to lights and sirens and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was called into the chase, she said.

The driver was chased to Hinds County where the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office took over the chase and stopped the vehicle east of Bolton, Williams said.

She said the Vicksburg Police Department is not pursuing charges. The driver will be charged in Hinds County.

 

One held for assault 

A Vicksburg woman accused of violence was held in the Warren County Jail.

Erica Rawlings, 24, 505 Bowmar Ave., was arrested at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday on Eastover Drive and charged with simple assault domestic violence third, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Officers responded to a disturbance and the result of the investigation led to Rawlings arrest, Williams said.

 

One held for warrant

A Warren County woman was held without bail for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Jennifer Scarber, 42, 171 Deer Ridge Road, was held in the Warren County Jail on a warrant from MDOC for probation violation, Williams said.

 

Compressor missing in county

An air compressor was missing Thursday following a theft reported Wednesday in Warren County.

At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, an air compressor was reported stolen from the area of Harley D. Drive, according to Warren County sheriff’s records.

 

Three free on drug charges

Two Vicksburg men and one Warren County man accused of having and selling drugs were free on bail Tuesday.

Scotty Weeks, 42, 4407 #12 Halls Ferry Road, was arrested Tuesday and charged with sale of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine, according to Warren County jail records.

Damien Carroll, 31, 704 Moonmist Drive, was arrested Tuesday and charged with sale of marijuana, according to Warren County jail records.

Justin Harris, 25, 4827 Gibson Road, was arrested Tuesday and charged with sale of methamphetamine, according to Warren County jail records.

 

One held on drug charge

A Vicksburg man accused of selling drugs was held in the Warren County jail

Larry Turner, 55, 3120 South Frontage Road, was arrested Tuesday and charged with sale of cocaine, according to jail records.
