Donald L. Goodwin died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at his home in Vicksburg.  He was 79.

Mr. Goodwin was born in Vicksburg to the late Roy Gordon Goodwin Sr. and Doris Louise Brown Goodwin.  He served in the National Guard for eight years.  He was self-employed as a floor finisher.  He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty S. Goodwin; a daughter, Angela Goodwin; a son, Tony L. Goodwin;  a sister, Charlesie Goodwin; and a brother, Roy Gordon Goodwin Jr.

Mr. Goodwin is survived two daughters, Donna Carpenter of Vicksburg and Sherry Knutelski of Rapid City, S.D.; a son, Danny Goodwin of Flora; a sister, Wilma Sherard; also of Vicksburg, and eight grandchildren.

Services were 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Riles Funeral Home.

Burial followed at Yokena Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bobby Parker, Bruce Goodwin, Rusty Goodwin, Eric Carpenter, Joe Brown, Clarence Lanier, Race Gordon, and Stan Knutelski.  Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Starnes.
