More indictments handed down by recent grand jury

A Vicksburg man has been indicted by a Warren County grand jury of aggravated assault-domestic violence involving an incident in which he allegedly beat his wife.

Derrie Warren, 42, 691 Belva Drive, is accused of hitting his wife in the face with a closed fist and forcing her to get medical help during an incident that occurred in June 2016.

• Kyle Marshall Hall, 22, 60 Roy Young Road, statutory rape involving a 14-year-old that occurred in January.

• Jeffery Gayles, 19, 224 Sidney Alexandria, Rolling Fork, statutory rape involving a 14-year-old that occurred May 2015.

• Michael Todd Thornton, 52, 4084 Warrenton Road, aggravated assault extreme indifference. He is accused of beating another man, causing a fractured rib, concussion and a cut on the man’s left eyelid.

• Angela Hasty Jobe, 43, 520 Berryman Road, and John Travis Ross, 30, 50 Stillwater Road, possession of a controlled substance.

Jobe and Ross were arrested by Vicksburg police Sept. 28 during a traffic stop when a police officer recognized Ross and arrested him on a city warrant for sale of methamphetamine. He arrested Ross, a passenger in the car on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. Officers recovered .42 ounces of methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $2,000.

• Mark Arnold, no age listed, 1450 Tucker Road, possession of a weapon after felony conviction.

• Chad Everett James, 38, 1550 Culkin Road, possession of a weapon after felony conviction. James was indicted as a habitual offender because he had prior convictions for burglary and sale of cocaine.

• John Wesley Shelby, 26, 1101 Mississippi 469 A6, Edwards, possession of contraband within a jail or correctional facility. He is accused of having a cellphone while he was a prisoner in the Warren County Jail.

• Kawjuan Jones, no age listed, 138 Cumberland Road, possession of a controlled substance. The charge is enhanced because Jones is accused of having a firearm when he was arrested.

• John Paul Alvarez, 27, 2112 Thomas Place, Forth Worth, Texas, and Jonathan Ray Wilson, 24, 3605 Julia Lane, Killeen, Texas, possession of a controlled substance.

• Lance Thomas Burton, 29, 3749 Gowall Road, possession of a weapon after felony conviction. Burton was indicted as a habitual defender because he has prior convictions for burglary and felony shoplifting.

• Harley Acuff, no age given, 118 Vera Drive, and Hassan Ali, 19, 2160 S. Frontage Road, fleeing or eluding law enforcement officers.

• Justin Allen Heath, 21, 1772 Paul Banett Drive, Joshua Forrest Boyd, 19, 3365 U.S. 61 South Lot 21, burglary.

• Dennis Dewayne Hall, 34, 100 Rosebud Road, Mayersville, possession of contraband within a jail or correctional facility. He is accused of having a cell phone in the Warren County Jail.

• Kenneth Lee Simmons Jr., 33, 4255 Forest Park Drive, Jackson, home repair fraud.

• Shawn Rishard Sims, 43, 1845 Main St., failure to register as a sex offender.

• Sydney Brewer, 43, 812 Red Hawk Circle, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

• DeMarquette Foster, 21, 90 Upland Drive, fleeing or eluding a law enforcement officer; receiving stolen property.

• Johnny Alexander, 34, 3860 Gowall Road, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Alexander was indicted as a habitual offender because he has prior convictions for manslaughter and burglary.

• Andew James, 26, 47 Timber Bluff Drive, Lumberton, possession of a controlled substance within a correctional facility. He is accused of having marijuana while he was a prisoner in the Warren County Jail. He was indicted as a habitual offender because he has prior convictions for felony malicious mischief, burglary, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and receiving stolen property.

• Peter Van Pope, 33, 5721 Terry Road, Byram, two counts of burglary.

• Grady Bishop, 24, 3365 U.S. 61 South, possession of a weapon after felony conviction. He was indicted as a habitual offender because he has prior convictions for burglary.

• Gregory Bunch, 21, 3330 Tiffintown Road, burglary.

• Frederick Allen, 26, Jefferson Street, sale of a controlled substance (marijuana).

• Gregory Ragan, 31, 8050 Mississippi 3, sale of a controlled substance (cocaine); five counts possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (marijuana, cocaine, methampheatmine and hydrocodone). He was indicted as a habitual offender because he has prior convictions for burglary and felony shoplifting.

• Jonathan Williams, 20, 4909 Gibson Road, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).

• Ricky Barber, 57, 120 Austin Lee Drive, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

• Judah Guiterrez, 27, 230 Rocky Lane, possession of a stolen firearm.

• Leequin McCloud, 27, 1711 Grove St. Apt. 1, larceny-motor vehicle.

• Cornelius Lantaiz Qualls, no age given, 1012 Locust St., two charges sale of a controlled substance (marijuana).

• Jimmy Lee Lyons, 31, 2501-B Franklin St., possession of a stolen firearm. He was indicted as a habitual offender because he has prior convictions for burglary and sale of cocaine.
