He was being held without bail in the Warren County Jail pending an initial appearance in Justice Court.

Pace said deputies were called to a home in the 3500 block of Pecan Boulevard after a relative of the homeowner arrived at the house and saw a man leaving the house in a Chevrolet Tahoe and called 911.

The sheriff’s department sent out a bulletin on the man and the SUV, and a Vicksburg police officer stopped the car at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Farmer Street and held Thomas for deputies.

The SUV was impounded and the gun was found during a search of the vehicle.
