Former Vicksburg Women’s Clinic employee accused of theft

Vicksburg police are looking for a former employee accused taking $1,806.18 from the Vicksburg Women’s Clinic, 100 Maxwell Drive, Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.

The theft was reported about 2:41 p.m. Friday.

• James Paul Varnado, 30, 510 Patrick Farms Drive, Pearl, was arrested about 1:56 a.m. Saturday in the 4800 block of U.S. 61 South on a warrant from Richland police.

• A counterfeit $20 bill was reported passed about 3 a.m. Monday at the Riverwalk Casino, 1046 Warrenton Road.

• Shots were reported fired about 11:18 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Vicklan Street.

• Seven Michael Kohrs bags with a total value of $1,400 were reported taken from Belk at 3505 Pemberton Square Blvd.

• Shots were reported fired about 7:56 p.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of Alcorn Drive.

  A 4-carat flat gold ring with diamonds valued at between $35,000 to $45,000, a charm bracelet valued at $5 and a Seiko watch valued at $300 were reported taken about 6:52 p.m. from a home in the 2900 block of Drummond Street.

Police made the following arrests between Friday and Saturday:

• James Robert Reynolds, 30, 1501 Military Ave., was arrested about 3:04 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Bowmar Avenue on a charge of contempt of court.

• Robert Anthony Williams, 55, 733 Johnson St., was arrested about 4:01 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Johnson Street in charges of public drunkenness and having an open container of alcohol.

• Ben Hammond III, 36, no address given, 36, was arrested about 8:58 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S. 61 South and Katherine Drive on charges of having an expired driver’s license, speeding, no proof of insurance and having no car tag.

• Frederick Jermaine Knight, 38, 611 Santa Rosa Drive, was arrested abut 1:48 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Cherry and Harrison streets, on charges of disorderly conduct — failure to comply, having an open container of alcohol and disturbing the peace — music.

• Moawetah Mahmoud Kassim, 18, 201 Berryman Road No. 73, was arrested about 9:35 p.m. Saturday at Clay Street and Berryman Road on charges of failure to yield right of way and having an expired driver’s license.

• Clair Denise Sherman, 65, 3020 Halls Ferry Road, was arrested about 6:25 p.m. Saturday in the 3000 block of Halls Ferry Road on a charge of disturbance of family.

• Brittany Diane Tanner, 25, 581 Stenson Road, was arrested about 11:35 a.m. Saturday in the 4400 block of Clay Street on a charge of contempt of court.

• A warrant was served on Earl Kenneth Ellis, 27, 25 Red Oak, about 9:50 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of U.S. 61 South and Airport Road.

• Nicole Meghan Hedrick, 18, 7930 Jeff Davis Road, was arrested about 12:57 p.m. Saturday at Clay Street and Melborn Place on charges of first-offense DUI and speeding.

• A warrant was served Tony DeJuan Cage, 19, 1711 Clay Street, about 9:40 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Clay Street and Melborn Place.

• Rejonna Michelle Johnson, 27, 714 Magnolia St., was arrested about 5:33 p.m. Friday in the 3400 block of Halls Ferry Road on a charge of first-offense shoplifting.
