Fire damages Vicksburg Car Store

Vicksburg firefighters were called to a fire at the Vicksburg Car Store, 2800 Clay St. about 10:45 p.m. Saturday.

Fire Chief Craig Danczyk said Ladder 3, Engine 6, Ladder 14, the department’s rescue truck and the Batallion 1 chief responded to the call. He said the blaze was brought under control about 11:24 p.m., and the building had heavy smoke in the shop area.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

He said firefighters also responded earlier to a fire call caused by an electrical short at 1404 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, but there was no fire.
