Woman arrested in stabbing of husband

A Vicksburg woman was arrested this morning and charged with stabbing her husband, police said.


Renia Claiborne, 36, 114 Eva St., was picked up at her home and charged with aggravated assault, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Police said Claiborne stabbed her husband, 39-year-old Alfred Claibone, in his leg during a domestic dispute. He was taken to River Region Medical Center, where he was treated and released.


Claiborne was held without bond pending her initial court appearance today.

In another case of domestic violence, Ronnie Lick, 45, 2500 Freetown Road, faces a third charge of the same crime.

Lick was arrested at his home at 12:41 a.m. today by the Warren County Sheriff's Department and charged with simple domestic violence. No bond had been set by mid-morning.



Robbery, carjacking reported this morning

At 2:24 this morning, a robbery and carjacking were reported in the 4000 block of Washington Street. Stolen were $1,000, a Sprint cell phone and a 2004 blue Dodge Durango with Texas tags.

An armed robbery Friday was reported at 9:02 p.m. in the 700 block of Poplar Street. The victim was assaulted and $30 was stolen. The victim was treated and released from River Region Medical Center.



Car, tires, cash among missing items

Tires, rims, a watch and an air compressor are among missing items.

  • On Friday at 3:03 p.m., four 14-inch tires and rims were reported missing from a Chrysler PT Cruiser in the 1900 block of Redbone Road. No value was given for the stolen items.

  • An auto burglary was reported Friday at 4:14 p.m. in the 2150 block of Iowa Boulevard. Stolen were $20 in change, a pocketknife and a 22-volt air compressor valued at $25.

  • Another auto burglary was reported Saturday at 3:15 p.m. in the 1300 block of Warrenton Road. Stolen were a Seiko watch valued at $150 and $200.

  • On Saturday at 3:43 p.m., various stereo equipment valued at $1,150 and clothes, tools and a CD/VCR player valued at $500 were reported missing from the 8000 block of U.S. 61 South.

  • Sunday at 7:30 a.m., a 1993 blue-green Honda Accord, Mississippi tag 732 WCF, was reported stolen from the 2200 block of Oak Street.



    City man charged with credit card fraud

    A Vicksburg man was arrested Saturday and charged with credit card fraud, police said.

    Christopher Jones, 25, 2805 Main St., was picked up by authorities at 4:47 p.m. in the 1900 block of Baldwin Ferry Road, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

    The charge stemmed from a fraud reported on Jan. 14.

    Jones was in the Warren County Jail this morning on a $5,000 bond.
