Jadice Moore, a defensive tackle from Port Gibson, reinjured his foot on Monday, the final freshman-only workout at Mississippi State.

Moore, a 6-foot-3, 286-pound defensive tackle, suffered a stress fracture while preparing for the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Game in June, but bounced back to play in the Bernard Blackwell Classic last month.

The 1999 Vicksburg Post All-Area Defensive Player of the Year will be re-evaluated before two-a-days start Thursday.

Quarterback Chris Giacone returned to the practice field Monday after suffering a sprained ankle in Saturday’s opening workouts for the 27 MSU newcomers. The 78 upperclassmen underwent physicals and were issued equipment this morning.

Christ Missionary and Industrial College High School, the first all-black school in the Mississippi Private School Association, has canceled its inaugural season. That leaves three area schools Rebul, Sharkey-Issaquena and Tri-County academies with open dates. All were conference games.
