BEULAH WASHAM LAIRD
TALLULAH Beulah Washam Laird died today at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 89.
Mrs. Laird was born in Rayville, La., and had lived in Madison Parish for 70 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann L. Walker of Magee; three sons, Gene Laird of Tallulah and John Laird and Allan Laird, both of Delhi; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Tallulah with the Revs. John Rushing, Todd Free and Tim Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Rayville-Masonic Cemetery in Rayville.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Laird, Vic Laird, Calvin Pierce, Brian Cordill, Greg Odom and Billy Faught.
STANLEY N. SHORT
Stanley N. Short died Monday, August 7, 2000, at his home. He was 61.
A native of the Mississippi Delta, Mr. Short had lived in Vicksburg for the past 24 years. He was a carpenter and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Short of Vicksburg; his mother, Opal Bounds of Pearl; three daughters, Anita Tarnabine and Sharon Stokes, both of Vicksburg, and Trina Short of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Doris Womble of Pascagoula and Gail Haley of Cary; four grandchildren, Samantha Tarnabine of Hattiesburg, Jason Tarnabine, Jake Tarnabine and Brayden Stokes, all of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Creswell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Vinson, Bruce Austin, Claude Carter, DeWayne Rayburn, Johnny Upton and Les Womble.
