The defending SWAC champion Lady Braves will face Illinois in the first game, followed by Tennessee and Clemson. All four made it to the NCAA Tournament last season.

Alcorn finished the 1999-2000 season at 22-9 and lost to Louisiana Tech in the first round of the Lady Braves’ first NCAA Tournament appearance.
