DWIGHT CARSON

Dwight Carson died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson.

He was 42.

Mr. Carson worked for Mississippi Action for Progress and Marion Hill Chemical Dependency Center. He was a member of Triumph Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Carson Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Ernestine Carson of Vicksburg; four children, Stacie Simmons and Dwight Carson, both of Hattiesburg, Micos Johnson of Natchez and Martravian Carson of Vicksburg; two brothers, Earl Carson Jr. and Charles Carson, both of Vicksburg; five sisters, Phyllis Wilson and Hattie Johnson, both of Vicksburg, Nina Drayton of Everette, Wash., and Shirley Evans and Laura Isabelle, both of Houston, Texas; one grandson and other relatives.

Williams Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

THEODORE “TED” L. DILLARD

Services for Theodore “Ted” L. Dillard will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion No. 1 M.B. Church with the Rev. Charlie Blackmore officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday at Robbins Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until the services Saturday at the church.

Mr. Dillard died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center.

He was 72.

He was a longtime agent for Robbins Funeral Home and was a member of Mount Zion No. 1 M.B. Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Combat Stars, the U.N. Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Allen Dillard; a daughter, Deborah Ann Dixon, and his mother, Rosalie Dillard.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Dillard; six sons, Michael Leroy Dillard of San Jose, Calif., Theodore L. Dillard Jr. of Moreno Valley, Calif., Larry Dillard of Modesto, Calif., Clarence L. Echols Jr. of Greenville, S.C., Steven Echols of Holiday, Fla., and Ernest Hamilton of New York, N.Y.; two daughters, Sandra Dillard of Vicksburg and Tanina Jackson of Hillside, Ill.; 22 grandchildren; aunts uncles and other relatives including Garfield Wright, Alfred Dillard Jr., Bessie Dillard, Delores Hicks, Dorothy Dillard and Frances Wright, all of Vicksburg.

GLADYS M. GREEN

Services for Gladys M. Green will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morning Star M.B. Church in Lorman with the Rev. Larry Carter officiating. Burial will follow at McCaa Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Visitation will be from noon Saturday until the service at the church.

Mrs. Green died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center.

She was 71.

Mrs. Green was a member of Morning Star M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayes and Estelle Carter Dotson.

She is survived by her husband, Marshall Green; three sons, Dewayne Green and Maurice Harris, both of Vicksburg, and Reginald Smith of Jackson; two daughters, Shirley Chase and Monique Harris, both of Vicksburg; three brothers, Leland Dotson and James Dotson, both of Lorman, and Willie Short of Port Gibson; three sisters, Ollie Adams of Crosby, Bertha Dotson of Port Gibson and Irene Brown of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

BILLIE JEAN HAMLIN

ROLLING FORK Billie Jean Hamlin died today, Aug. 24, 2000, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

She was 70.

Born in Issaquena County, Mrs. Hamlin lived in Anguilla. She was associated with the Green Apple Florist in Rolling Fork. She was a member of Rolling Fork United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Hamlin.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann Darnell of Glen Allen; a son, James Hamlin of Mayersville; four grandchildren, James Christopher Hamlin of Mandyville, La., Amber Conn of Mayersville, Tiffany Mae Darnell and Lacey Darnell, both of Glen Allen.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Tim Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Edwards, Warren Clements, Wayne Windham, James Hamlin, Chris Hamlin and Bert Darnell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Milton Ewing and Dunbar Lee.
