SHELBY BUFORD JAMES

Services for Shelby Buford James were at 4 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. James died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Vicksburg Medical Center. He was 63.

He was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He was a member of the IBEW Local 480 union in Vicksburg and a member of Goodrum Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred James; a daughter, Patricia “Sissy” Cunningham; a son, Wayne Pagan; and his father, Shelby A. James.

Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Hughley of Vicksburg; his mother, Ruth James of Vicksburg; four sisters, Libby Sibley of Morton, Barbara Bartlett, Earline Fielder and Shirley McIntyre, all of Vicksburg; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Steve Hughley, Nolan Bridges, Joe Branch, Harvey Luckett, Keith Greene and Bobby Stout.
