Annette “Annie-Pooh” Mays died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 32.

Miss Mays was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert James Blackmore; her maternal grandparents, Inetta Williams and Elbert Williams Sr.; her paternal grandparents, Suzzianna Blackmore and Ellis Banks; and her paternal great-grandmother, Josephine Brown.

She is survived by her mother, Shirley M. Thomas of Vicksburg; a brother, Joe Thomas of Vicksburg; and three sisters, twin Nanette Morgan of Jackson and Tabitha Mays and Sharon Williams, both of Vicksburg.

JOSEPH MORRIS JR.

NITTA YUMA Joseph Morris Jr. died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 46.

He is survived by a son, Joseph Robinson of Nitta Yuma; his mother, Dora Morris of Nita Yuma; two sisters, Flora Collins of Nitta Yuma and Ella M. Burnette of Chicago; and one grandchild, Karan Johnson of Zion, Ill.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at South Delta Middle School in Anguilla. Burial will follow at Nitta Yuma Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.

Wake service will be from 5 until 6 Friday night at the Funeral Home in the Adella Walker Chapel.

CHARLENE RUSHING QUIN

McCOMB Charlene Rushing Quin died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. She was 68.

A native of Walthall County, Mrs. Quin was a former Vicksburg resident and had lived in McComb for a number of years. She was a retired bookkeeper and member of Bowmar Avenue Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie J. Rushing and Annie Mae Spencer Rushing, and a brother, A.V. Rushing.

Survivors include a son, David C. Quin of McComb; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Leon Cefalu of Jackson; two sisters, Doris Hutson of Pearl River, La., and Evelyn Martin of McComb; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Pike Memorial Gardens in McComb with the Rev. Paul Lee officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Catchings Funeral Home of McComb.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bowmar Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry White and Dr. James Valentine officiating.

ESTELLA WILLIAMS

ROLLING FORK Estella Williams died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at University Medical Center. She was 68.

Mrs. Williams was a retired cook.

She is survived by seven sons, Theodore “Ted” Buck of Greenville, Marvin Williams of Inez, Texas, Fredrick Williams of Murfreesboro, Undray L. Williams of Rolling Fork, Milton Williams and Cornelius Williams, both of Bartow, Fla., and Rickey Williams of Indiana; five daughters, Ella Johnson of Lake Oswego, Ore., Crystal Williams and Joyce Wearing, both of Bartow, Deborah Williams of Rolling Fork and Patricia Williams of Drew, Miss.; two brothers, Horace Buck of Chicago and Joseph Holmes of New Orleans; three sisters, Katie McGruder of Haines City, Fla. and Elnora Bell and Brenda Holmes, both of Rolling Fork; 40 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 p.m. Saturday at Mount Lula M.B. church in Rolling Fork. Burial will follow at Green Chapel Cemetery in Rolling Fork under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 until the service at the church Saturday. Wake will be from 6 until 7 Friday night at the church.
