McCOY

Anderson McCoy died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at his home in Waukegan, Ill. He was 54.

Mr. McCoy was born and reared in Vicksburg. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ora D. McCoy.

He is survived by his father, Samuel McCoy of Vicksburg; seven brothers, James Douglas of Waukegan, Larry McCoy of Chicago, Calvin McCoy of Laurel, William H. McCoy of Natchez, C.D. McCoy of Trotwood, Ohio, and Clyde McCoy and Lee Arthur McCoy, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Gloria McCoy Ward of Vicksburg; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home Chapel.

ELIZA GRAHAM MOORE

PORT GIBSON Eliza Graham Moore died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 87.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Cordelia Graham; four sisters, Aletha Winfield, Vergetts Graham, Lizzie Noble and Louvenia Tolliver; and three brothers, Jack Graham, Eugene Graham and Alonzo Graham.

Survivors include a son, Kenny Ray Moore of Gulfport; three brothers, the Rev. Eddie Graham and the Rev. Vance Graham, both of Indianapolis, Ind., and Willie Graham Sr. of Port Gibson; a sister, Emma Kelly of Fayette; two grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Macaa Cemetery in Russum under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be from 1 until 5 Friday at the funeral home.

EMMA McGOWAN RENO

EDWARDS Emma McGowan Reno died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 91.

Mrs. Reno was a retired teacher. She attended Southern Christian Institute and Jackson Teacher’s College. She received a bachelor of science degree from Jackson College and later studied at the University of Illinois at Urban-Champaign. She taught for more than 50 years in several Mississippi towns.

She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Order of Eastern Star, the Board of Trustees of Natchez College and the NAACP. She was most ancient grand matron of the Heroines of Jericho and coordinator of the Women’s Baptist Convention of Mississippi.

She received the doctorate of humane letter from Natchez College, the Humanitarian Award from Beta Delta Omega chapter, Jackson State University Thousand Dollar Club, Distinguished Service and Leadership Award as most ancient grand matron, Joshua L. Webb, Grand High Court, Heroines of Jericho, by the M.W. Stringer Grand Lodge and Auxiliaries of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Reno.

Survivors include two sisters, Mildred P. Arburtha and Deloris M. Porter, both of Chicago; a brother, John McGowan of Chicago; and other relatives including Nerissa Gray Smith and Bessie Walton, both of Edwards.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Edwards under the direction of Lakeover Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 until 8 Friday night at the funeral home in Jackson and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.
