Danielle Klaus scored 13 points as St. Aloysius coach Paul Hayden picked up his first win at the school. Mollie Richards and Kristen Patrick added 12 and 10, respectively, in a 41-28 win at Riverside.

“It’s a good confidence-booster going into our first district game,” said Hayden, whose squad led 21-18 at the half and held Riverside to four points in the final quarter. St. Al (1-3) hosts Salem Friday at 6 p.m.

Matt Horn led the Flashes (0-4) with 19 points, but it wasn’t enough against the Bulldogs, who got 33 from Tim Bailey.

“We played a good first half, but in the second, we had trouble with their man-to-man,” Hayden said.

The Flashes led 26-23 at the break, but managed just six points in the third quarter and saw the Bulldogs explode for 25 in the fourth.

Ryan Hearn had nine points for the Flashes.
