Michael Head booted in a pair of goals and Michael Strickland scored one as St. Aloysius downed Terry, 3-1, on the road Monday night.

“We shot a lot better,” St. Al coach Shirley Agostinelli said. “Some of the shots we missed were so close.”

Strickland put the Flashes (3-1) on the board first, taking the ball from midfield through traffic before booming in the shot. Head, a freshman, added one on an assist from Beau Theobald to make it 2-0 at the half.

“This team really works well together,” Agostinelli said.

She was especially proud of her team’s defense against the Class 5A team.

“They’re really starting to jell,” Agostinelli said.

She praised sophomore goalkeeper Andy Gough, who had nine saves.

The 1A Flashes host a 5A school Tuesday night. They play Murrah at 5:30.
