Services for Dephene Hitt were at 2 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Sibley officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Miss Hitt died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 57.

Born in Louisiana, she had lived in Vicksburg for the past 43 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Hitt, and a brother, Glenn Hitt.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen Grey of Huntsville, Mo., and Sharon Brown of Vicksburg; her mother, Viley Hitt of Monroe; seven grandchildren and other relatives including Kenneth Brown.

BEULAH MAE JOHNSON

GREENVILLE Beulah Mae Johnson died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. She was 89.

Mrs. Johnson was a native of Vicksburg and a member of Travelers Rest M.B. church until 1988 when she moved to Greenville and joined Mount Nebo M.B. Church. She was on the mother board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Johnson; her parents, the Rev. Lit and Frances Palmer; three brothers and a sister.

She is survived by a son, Matthew Hudson of Vicksburg; a brother, Isaac Palmer of Rolling Fork; four sisters, Minnett White and Sadie Norris, both of Greenville, Inez Rhoden and Beatrice Harris, both of Seattle, Wash.; 11 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Nebo M.B. Church in Greenville with the Rev. John Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery in Greenville under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home.

IVERA HARRIS LEWIS

FAYETTE Ivera Harris Lewis died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at Natchez Regional Medical Center. She was 66.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, Rommie Lewis; a son; her father, Louis Henry Harris; a brother, Charlie Harris; a sister and three grandchildren.

Survivors include five sons, Jessie Harris of Rancho Cordova, Calif., Frank Harris, Calvin Lewis, Kenny Ray Lewis and Tony Lewis, all of Fayette; five daughters, Barbara Minor of Natchez, Catherine Lewis, Sharon Harris and Ledon Harris, all of Fayette, and Carolyn Walker of Rialto, Calif.; her mother, Katherine Carter of Fayette; three sisters, Sarah Louiza Harris of Fayette, Christine Harris of Florida and Molly Catching of Brookhaven; 28 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Services were at 1 p.m. Friday at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Fayette with Bishop Melvin Jackson Sr. officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery in Fayette under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home.

MINNIE L. WALLACE PARKER

Services for Minnie L. Wallace Parker will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Traveler’s M.B. Church with the Rev. Alfred Lassiter officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Parker died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 65.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson Parker; her father, Dulla Wallace; and her mother and stepfather, Ernest and Doretha Williams.

She is survived by Helen Waites of Dallas and other relatives including the Harris, Wallace, Coon and Betts families of Vicksburg.
