DEBORAH ANN FLOYD

Deborah Ann Floyd died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 43.

Mrs. Floyd was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She attended Warren Central High School and worked 13 years as a school bus driver for Vicksburg Warren School District.

Mrs. Floyd was a member of Oakland Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Floyd Sr.; her sister, Earnestine Miller; and her father, Ernest Alexander Emfinger.

Mrs. Floyd is survived by her mother, Daisy Bell Price Emfinger; two daughters, Stacey Emfinger and Melissa Floyd; and one son, Chris Emfinger; one brother, James Emfinger; four sisters, Patricia Emfinger, Maggie Hedrick, Janice Prescott and Sally Hambright, all of Vicksburg; two stepdaughters, Rosemary Spencer of Stockbridge, Ga., and Barbara Batte of Birmingham, Ala.; one stepson, Wilson Floyd of Birmingham; one grandson, and four step-grandchildren.

Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Marr, pastor of Oakland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe Holloway, Patrick Hedrick, James Hedrick, Raymond Prescott, Shane Woods, Wayne Hambright, Eddie Wilson and Lamar Griffin.

ANN GREER

Ann Greer died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 56.

Mrs. Greer was born in Yalobusha County and had lived in Vicksburg for 50 years. She worked in the budget department of the Vicksburg District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Greer is survived by two sons, Jamie Greer of Madison and Brady Greer of Vicksburg; one daughter, Angela Stewart of Vicksburg; her father, W.E. Pharr of Vicksburg; five sisters, Nancy Pitchford, Kathy Knighton and Martha Pharr, all of Vicksburg, Linda Chappell of Sarasota, Fla., and Wanda Cook of Alexandria, Va.; and three grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Sam Pitchford, Marlon Knighton, Mak Knighton, Robin Knighton, Justin Cook, Johnny Nassour, Jim McCaskill and Herman Watson.

Honorary pallbearers were Charles Chappell and Sam Scarber.

SYBIL MILES

Sybil Miles died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at her home. She was 87.

A native of Noxapater, Mrs. Miles was a homemaker and the retired owner and operator of a day-care center. She was a member of Warrenton Baptist Church.

Mrs. Miles was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Miles Sr.; her parents, James Frank Womble and Inez Calhoun Womble; two brothers, Stennis Womble and Buck Womble; one sister, Annie C. Miles; and two daughters, Patsy R. Miles and Betty C. Hancock.

She was survived by two sons, James T. Miles Jr. of Vicksburg and Terry P. Miles of Port Gibson; two daughters, Jeri Mathews of Dallas and Barbara M. Dalziel of Vicksburg; two sisters, Charlie Mae Ford of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and Bonnie Durden of Elijay, Fla.; three brothers, Royce Womble of Louisville and Wallace Womble and Raymond Womble, both of Pascagoula, 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services were Monday at 11 a.m. at Fisher-Riles Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Don Womble and Johnny Welborn officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Richard Craft, Richard Marcus, Dr. Hildon H. Sessums, Jeff Riggs, Jeff Grimes, Richard Murphy and Mike Piazza.
