KATIE LARRY BROWN

PORT GIBSON Katie Larry Brown died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 101.

Mrs. Brown was a member and mother of Tillman Chapel Church.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Edgar Pearl, Arthur Pearl, Athen Pearl and Gloster Wilson; and two sisters, Amy Johnson and Sophia Wilson.

Survivors include four nieces, Carlene Carter of Buffalo, N.Y., Zelda Ruth Bullock of Raleigh, S.C., Thayon Green of Chicago and Mary Blue of Port Gibson; a nephew, Richard Wilson of Buffalo; great-nieces; great-nephews; and other relatives and friends, including Odessa Reeves of Port Gibson.

Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tillman Chapel Church in Pattison with Walter Chambers officiating. Burial followed at Wilson Memorial Park Cemetery in Port Gibson.

ALBERTA J. CAIN

Alberta J. Cain died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2000, in San Antonio, Texas. She was 81.

Mrs. Cain was a retired school teacher with the Vicksburg Warren School District. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cain; her parents, William and Ophelia Jefferson; a brother, Dan Jefferson; and a sister, Lou Ella Jefferson.

She is survived by two stepdaughters, Marie Cain-Rolling of Jackson and Gerry Cain Goodwin of Okinawa, Japan; a brother, Rudolph Jefferson of New Orleans; a sister, Elnora Jefferson of San Antonio; and other relatives.

Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. John Jenkins Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

NINA HERRON

PORT GIBSON Nina Herron died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 48.

Mrs. Herron was preceded in death by her parents, Amos Marbley Sr. and Leona Turner-Marbley; her husband, Levorn Herron; and two brothers, Sammy Lee Marbley and Amos Marbley Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Stiff of Port Gibson; two sons, Anthony Marbley of Red Lick and Levorn Herron Jr. of Norfolk, Va.; 10 brothers, Leonard Marbley, Stanley Barnes, Joe Willie Barnes, Johnny Marbley, Joe Eddie Marbley, David Earl Marbley and Alonzo Gibson, all of Port Gibson; J.T. Trevillion of Terry, LaFayette Barnes of Milwaukee, Wis., and Billy Gusta of Las Vegas; five sisters, Rose Mary Bright of Vicksburg, Juanita Gray of Fayette and Martha Marbley, Demetria Gibson and Keisha Gibson, all of Port Gibson; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rising Sun M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating. Burial followed at the Barnes Family Cemetery in Carlisle.

BRENDA JOYCE WALLACE

Brenda Joyce Wallace died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was 43.

Miss Wallace was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Moore.

She is survived by three sons, Tyrone Wallace, Keafur Wallace and Roy Anderson, all of Vicksburg; her mother, Alice Brown Moore of Detroit; her father, Henry Wallace of Chicago; six brothers, John Brown, David Brown and Reginald Moore, all of Vicksburg, Alvin Moore and Dewayne Moore, both of Detroit, and Henry Brown of Los Angeles; four sisters, Carolyn Brown and Ruby Brown, both of Vicksburg, and Linda Moore and Denise Moore, both of Detroit; her maternal grandmother, Hertisina Carter of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives, including Catherine Brown of Vicksburg and Gen. John M. Brown of Upper Marlboro, Md.

Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Elem M.B. Church with the Rev. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
