SALLIE LAND LEGGETT

TALLULAH Sallie Land Leggett died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at her home in Tallulah. She was 93.

Mrs. Leggett was born in Carroll Parish and had lived in Tallulah nearly 50 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Tallulah, the Harrison Colony chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sons, Tilford Watts of Tallulah and Reid Foster of Woodworth, La.; two daughters, Eloise Latoof of Marrero, La., and Sally Gibson of Harrison, Ark.; two sisters, Floree Pollard and Eula Wilkins, both of Tallulah; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and friends.

Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Tallulah with the Rev. Fred Fulton officiating. Burial followed at Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Wade Watts, Jeff Watts, Cliff Watts, James Gibson, Adam Hubbell and Derek Hubbell.

FRANCES ELIZABETH McBRIDE

Frances Elizabeth McBride died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 89.

Born in Covington, Tenn., Miss McBride had lived in Vicksburg since 1999. In 1973, she retired as a secretary from Union Planters Bank in Memphis after 25 years of service.

She was of the Presbyterian faith.

She is survived by a niece, Betty Riordan Hall of Vicksburg; four great-nephews, Dan Wood Hall and James Arthur Hall, both of Vicksburg, Todd Eugene Hall of Jackson and William Bridge Hall of Clayton, La.; and a number of great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Dr. Ray Spence, pastor of Goodrum Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Fisher-Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 Monday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be great-nephews and Wesley Lominick, Joe Loviza and Greg Ruff.

Memorials may be made to Goodrum Baptist Church Youth Department, 4569 Fisher Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180.

PAULINE SLATER TEMPLETON

Services for Pauline Slater Templeton were at 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Shappley and Les Ferguson officiating. Burial followed at Yokena Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Mrs. Templeton died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 70.

She was a native of Hinds County and had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1948. She was a member of the Warrenton Church of Christ.

Mrs. Templeton was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Templeton; her parents, Carroll and Maudie Slater; a sister, Carolyn Hearn; and a brother, Tommy Slater.

She is survived by a son, Randy Templeton of Mishawaka, Ind.; two daughters, Paula Suzanne Templeton and Bonnie Marie Ratcliff, both of Vicksburg; and two sisters, Merle Easter of Hattiesburg and Marjorie Strong of Vicksburg.

Pallbearers were Brian Ratcliff, Andy Templeton, Mark Steen, Glen Steen, Greg Strong and Gene Steen.

Honorary pallbearers were Donald Hazzlerigg, Bart Slater, Tony Young, Randy Smith and Dale Wheeler.
