GLENEVA WHATLEY FLOYD

Gleneva Whatley Floyd died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at Trace Haven nursing home. She was 91.

Mrs. Floyd was a lifelong Vicksburg resident, a homemaker and a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Preston Floyd; her parents, Irwin and Josephine Whitaker Whatley; a son, Sidney Preston Floyd Jr.; a sister, Azile Logue; and two brothers, Calvin Whatley and William T. Whatley.

Mrs. Floyd is survived by two daughters, Peggy Flanagan of Vicksburg and Mary Jo McCormack of Titusville, Fla.; two sons-in-law, Bobby Flanagan of Vicksburg and Pat McCormack of Titusville; a niece, Joyalene Oakes of Vicksburg, five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Fisher-Riles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Geoffrey Joyner, pastor of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon Monday until the service.

Pallbearers will be David Oakes, David Quinn, Scott Elliot, Thomas Flanagan, Preston Flanagan, Dan Robey, Michael Flanagan and Bill McCormack.

RALPH HOLMAN

BOLTON Ralph Holman died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at St. Dominic Hospital. He was 77.

Mr. Holman was a retired offset printing instructor at Hinds Community College in Raymond. He was born in Crystal Springs and spent most of his life in Bolton, where he was a former member of Bolton Baptist Church, and a deacon of Raymond Baptist Church.

Mr. Holman was a veteran of World War II and reached the rank of first lieutenant. He flew 33 combat missions as the pilot of a B-17 Flying Fortress stationed in England.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Holman; and a granddaughter, Staci Davis.

Mr. Holman is survived by his wife, Yvonne Findley Holman of Bolton; two sons, Bill Holman of Pearl and Ralph Holman Jr. of Bolton; one daughter, Susan Holman Davis of Clinton; one sister, Marguerite Gildart of Greenville; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Raymond Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Raymond Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond and from 10 a.m. until the service at Raymond Baptist Church.

BERNARD TRENTACOSTA

Bernard Trentacosta died Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 86.

Mr. Trentacosta, a former resident of St. Barnard, La., lived in Vicksburg for the past year. He was a member of the AFL-CIO and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Lundy Trentacosta of Vicksburg; one son, Emile Trentacosta of Millville, Ga., two daughters, Jeanette Lawson and Lena T. Nuff, both of St. Barnard; three stepsons, James Gibson of Slidell, La., Charles Gibson of Ocean Springs and George Gibson of Jackson; two stepdaughters, Mildred Stauts of Vicksburg and Barbara Nuffmaster of Grand Bay, Ala.; two sisters, Jenny Arceneaux of New Orleans and Elenora Caruso of Pennsylvania; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Barnard Memorial Funeral Home in Chalmette, La. Burial will follow in St. Barnard Memorial Park.
