SAMMY DEE RANEY SR.

RAYVILLE, La. Sammy Dee Raney Sr. died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at his home in Rayville, La. He was 51.

Born in Lynwood, Calif., Mr. Raney was reared in Vicksburg. He had lived in Rayville since 1977. He was plant manager of Acme Cleaners in Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Henry Raney.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Tatum Raney of Rayville; a daughter, Stephanie Raney of Rayville; three sons, Sammy D. Raney Jr., Michael Paul Raney and Richard Clayton Raney, all of Rayville; four sisters, Terrie Stevens of Rapid City, S.D., Mary Stephenson and Barbara Bowie, both of Ackerman, and Tammie Foster of Bentonia; three brothers, Ryan Raney and Jimmy Raney, both of Vicksburg, and Dennis Raney of Newellton; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. James Kitchens officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Hutson, Ronnie Hutson, Wayne Hutson, Austin Morgan, Tommy Burgess and Roger Crawley.

MATTIE SUE WALLACE

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. Services for Mattie Sue Wallace were Sunday at First United Pentecostal Church in Winnsboro with the Revs. Gary Howington and Donnye Cooper officiating. Burial followed at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mrs. Wallace died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark. She was 64.

A sales clerk, she was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Abilou Stigall; three brothers and a sister.

She is survived by her children, Gus Newman of Natchez and Lanna Edens and Rocky Newman, both of Vidalia, La.; two brothers, Huey Stigall of Iuka and Ronnie Stigall of Blytheville, Ark.; six sisters, Cody Fulgham of Delta, Betty Johnson of Salem, Ark., Carolyn Littleford of Gepp, Ark., Linda Sipes of Blytheville, Terry Lawrence of Viola, Ark., and Shirley Scott of Gulfport; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
