DAN H. BOONE

Dan H. Boone died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at his home. He was 74.

Born in Taylorsville, Mr. Boone had lived in Vicksburg most of his life. He retired in 1975 from Illinois Central Railroad. He served with the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Holton. He was a member of the Clifford G. Curd VFW Post 10734 and Bowmar Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Ainsworth Zoder; and his stepfather, Charles W. Zoder.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Edwards Boone of Vicksburg; two daughters, Donna Gail Boone Grafton of Brandon and Susan E. Boone Dail of Valrico, Fla.; a son, Bill Boone of Vicksburg; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Steen officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 Wednesday night at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Eric McCaskill, Ray Kelly, W.C. Carlisle, J.W. Redditt, Clarence Edwards and James Gillis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. George T. Smith-Vaniz, Dr. Martin Newcomb, Dr. Fred Rushton, Dr. Avanish Gulanikar and members of the Clifford G. Curd VFW Post 10734.
