A.B. CRAWFORD JR.
UTICA A.B. Crawford Jr. died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. He was 83.
Mr. Crawford had lived in Utica all his life. He was a logger and farmer and served in the Army in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Dovie Sims Crawford of Utica; a son, Benjamin Crawford of Utica; a stepdaughter, Donna Chauncey of Vicksburg; one brother, Jack Crawford of Utica; one sister, Lillian Allen of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday at Utica Cemetery with the Rev. John Ed Snell officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Utica.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Crawford, Ron Crawford, Russell Canada, Scott Canada, Clark Denley and David Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Beasley and Dr. Paul Pierce.
ALMA MITCHELL MACK
EDWARDS Alma Mitchell Mack died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at her home in Edwards. She was 41.
Born in Hinds County, Mrs. Mack was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Willie Mack Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, Catina Watson of Jackson and Eugenia Jackson of Edwards; her father, Henry Mitchell Sr. of Edwards; nine sisters, Fannie Wilson, Annie Carter, Lovie Young, Olevia Mitchell and Lesley Johnson, all of Edwards, Johnnie Torrey of Saginaw, Mich., Arlean Walker of Chicago, Elizabeth Thompson of Jackson, and Mildred McFarland of Champaign, Ill.; five brothers, Jessie Mitchell, Henry Mitchell Jr., Walter Mitchell, all of Edwards, Jerry Mitchell of Vicksburg and Leonard McFarland of Champaign; three grandchildren; and other relatives.
Services were at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Lakeover Funeral Home.
