GENEVA WARFIELD EVANS
CLEVELAND, Ohio Services for Geneva Warfield Evans will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home, Euclid Avenue in Cleveland.
Mrs. Evans died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at ParkView Regional Medical Center.
A resident of Cleveland, Mrs. Evans was a homemaker and a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her father, Major Warfield; her mother, Alberta Bailey Warfield; and two sisters, Florence Warfield and Yvonne Warfield.
She is survived by a son, Alvie Evans Jr. of Cleveland; three daughters, Gloria Dillon of Vicksburg, Doris Nelson of Cleveland and Rosie Lee Smith of Ridgecrest, Calif.; two sisters, Hazel Jones of Vicksburg and Ruby Waites of Chicago; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of local arrangements.
JEFF McINTIRE
WAYSIDE Jeff McIntire died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at his home in Wayside. He was 44.
Mr. McIntire lived in Sharkey County most of his life. He was employed with APAC Inc. He graduated from Sharkey-Issaquena Academy in 1974. He was a member of Louise Baptist Church in Louise.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Del Bobo McIntire.
He is survived by two sons, Benson McIntire and Will McIntire, both of Greenville; his father, Tony McIntire of Anguilla; two sisters, Sarah Cranford of Anguilla and Teresa Wood of Moore, Okla.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Anguilla Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Stevens and Rip Noble officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Link Cemetery in Anguilla under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Friday night at the funeral home in Rolling Fork.
WILLIE SMITH JR.
Services for Willie “Big June” Smith Jr. will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. mark M.B. Church on North Washington Street with Elder W.C. Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at his home. He was 40.
He was a former employee of Walnut Hills and the Biscuit Company. He was a member of St. Mark M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary “Skit” Lee Jefferson Smith; a brother, Robert Earl “Tip Toe” Smith; grandparents, Otis Smith, Agnes Passmore and Joe Jefferson Sr.
He is survived by his father, Willie Smith Sr. of Vicksburg; three brothers, Benard Jefferson, William “Man” Jefferson and Milton “Shorty” Jefferson, all of Vicksburg; seven sisters, Sadie Bush, Lee Ester Bridges, Melvinia “Honey” Jones, Mary Diane Smith, Rosetta Smith, Sandra Kay Smith and Sharon Renee Dotson, all of Vicksburg; and his paternal grandmother, Naomi Smith of Vicksburg; and other relatives including Joe Jefferson Jr. of Vicksburg and Glen Jefferson of Oakland, Calif.
ESTELLA DAVIS TATE
CARY Estella Davis Tate died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. She was 87.
Miss Tate was a resident of Cary.
She is survived by a goddaughter, Lutesha Webster of Cary.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at New Hope M.B. Church in Blanton. Burial will follow at Cary Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 6 Friday night at Walker Funeral Home.
TAMMIE S. TREVILLION
TILLMAN Tammie S. Trevillion died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 30.
Mrs. Trevillion was a graduate of Claiborne County High School.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Margaret Johnson.
She is survived by two sons, Antonio Trevillion and Shelton Trevillion, both of Tillman; a daughter, Shawna Trevillion of Tillman; her father, Percy Mays of Port Gibson; her mother and stepfather, Catherine and James Nicholas of Tillman; her grandmother, Geraldine Ellis of Richmond, Calif.; her grandfather, Hiram Trevillion of Port Gibson; two sisters, Sammie Trevillion and Mary Marbley, both of Port Gibson; and other relatives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tillman Chapel in Tillman with the Rev. Walter Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at Tillman Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Port Gibson.
Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
HARRY WASHINGTON JR.
CARY Harry Washington Jr. died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 59.
Mr. Washington was a resident of Cary.
He is survived by his father, Harry Washington Sr. Rolling Fork; his wife, Frankie Washington of Cary; a son, Reginald Washington of Cary; four daughters, Sharon Washington and Vanessa Washington, both of Mayersville, and Rita Fay Washington and Natlie Washington, both of Cary; three brothers, Willie Lee Washington of Onward, Robert Earl Washington of Glen Allan and Joe Holmes of Joliet, Ill.; two sisters, Fannie Mae Washington of Chicago and Odesta Flowers of Leland; and 18 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Guiding Star Church in Cary. Burial will follow at Cary Community Cemetery.
